It may be turning brown with age, but this tiare still smells like Tahiti. I inhale and think of the thousands of miles it traveled to be here, in my kitchen. The scent reminds me of the Cook Islands. I miss my family.

Sunday was a day of rest, stuffed with hours of reading and sunshine. One more day of it would have been nice, but it’s Monday and there’s lots to be done this week.
Another Saturday afternoon, another rugby match. Only a few more games, then my weekends will shift from rugby to Pacific Islander festivals.
