The first outing I took my Canon on was a road trip to Northern California at the end of January. For a trip that really only qualified as a long weekend, my friend and I managed a good variety of photo ops. We got on the road a couple hours later than originally intended, which meant we started the trip creeping through Los Angeles. The upside of traffic? Plenty of time to get a good angle on another brilliant California sunset.
Somewhere along the road in central California, we happened on what I guess was an orchard burn. A fire that size is mesmerizing at night.
There was also a trip to the Armstrong Redwoods, and a tour of the odd junk sculptures found in many Sebastopol front yards. My personal favorite was one of the Batman.
